About the Job

The UnitedHealth Group Office of the Chief Scientific Officer (OCSO) is developing an exciting new technology platform that will enable health plans, clinical practices, and all who provide patient care better leverage of patient health data to drive better treatment decision support, higher clinical quality, a reduction in treatment variation, fewer gaps in care, and improved affordability.  This platform bridges the divide between traditional Providers and Payers, and will transform the ways in which each person's health care is provided and experienced by delivering health care at a scale that makes a difference.
As an Automation Tester, you will bring hands-on contributions to test automation. You will write test code using multiple tools including but not limited to Cucumber, Selenium, Appium and more. You will design tests, drive test implementation, execute regression and integration tests, analyze pass rate and feature coverage and work with core development teams to close defects as they arise. We are an agile organization. You will work as part of a scrum team that brings together development, QA, product and project management.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and dissect system requirements and technical specifications to create and execute test cases for large business initiatives
  • Ability to write test cases and execute testing within a web service environment
  • Product test and driving defect resolution
  • Assist business users in defining User Acceptance Testing, test cases and plans
  • Establish and maintain test cases and test data
  • Create and maintain test cases in Jira and/or Test Director
  • Actively participate in walk-through, inspection, review and user group meetings for quality assurance
  • Work with business users, system analysts, designers and programmers to create and analyze various required project documents
  • Participate in production implementation verification and being accountable for validating system quality
  • Plan, document, evaluate and track testing results to ensure system applications are free from defects
  • Communicate and interact with appropriate areas on problems, changes and enhancements that may impact data, workflow and /or functionality within Information Technology software
  • Comply with standards of the software development life cycle and follow strategies, plans and procedures within information Technology software
  • Comply with standards and strategies of the software development lifecycle

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance/Testing experience
  • 5+ years of relational database experience
  • Understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • 2+ years of hands-on, demonstrable Appium (Java) technical experience, including best practices in flexibility and scalability
  • Agile QA / Test methodologies experience
  • Core Java experience (Design Patterns, OOP etc)
Preferred Qualification:
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience
  • Strong understanding of REST and demonstrated experience with Web services API’s testing / Automation
  • Experience using continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
  • Experience with API testing techniques
  • Experience with Native mobile app test automation
  • Experience with Sauce Labs
  • Consumer HealthCare product domain business knowledge
