This high profile leadership role will partner with Optum Leadership to drive growth in OptumServe.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the overall Finance function as a key member of the OptumServe Leadership team in a high growth and rapidly changing business
  • Build relationships, both internal and external, to effectively operate the business in a highly matrix organization while delivering value to customers, enabling high growth and providing profitable returns
  • Proactively manage, and own execution of, the business to meet financial and other commitments while helping transition the business through several growth cycles
  • Partner with business/department owners to deliver on their financial commitments
  • Evolve and build the organization to create a high performing team that can deliver on the demands of OptumServe
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory actions
  • Drive development and evaluation of bids and purchasing contracts, and participate in sales as needed
  • Evaluate and implement appropriate structures and systems to enable the business to pursue a variety of government contracts while enforcing policies and procedures
  • Ensure strong partnership with Optum Corporate on accounting matters and help drive cash management for OptumServe 
  • Ownership of timely and accurate preparation and analysis of budgets, financial forecasts, and trends
  • Reports to OptumHealth CFO with responsibility to OptumServe.  Role has potential succession to other OptumServe leadership roles

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in managing and leading large complex programs in matrix organizations
  • 15 or more years of financial and business management experience
  • 10 or more years of experience in a leadership role
  • Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to anticipate planning, forecasting, and operational issues; determine the impact, and develop and implement an appropriate action plan
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in managing and leading large complex programs in matrix organizations
  • Past experience in a Federal and or government market space


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Significant experience with and leadership in complying with all requirements of government contracting across Optum (FAR, CAS)
  • Past employment by a Federal market
