About the Job

We have an opportunity for a Senior Consultant, Benefit Business Analysis with experience in building and configuring benefit requirements within a new business configurable system (similar to Facets, HealthRules or QNXT).  In this role you will be leading the analysis, design, build and validation of complex benefits.  Duties include working with business and IT partners to understand requirements, develop innovative solutions, oversee quality assurance activities, outline new processes, and troubleshoot and resolve configuration errors. 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and Design:
    • Lead requirements gathering, service-oriented modeling, analysis and design activities
    • Evaluate business requirements and prepare detailed functional and technical specifications
    • Analyze benefit and claim requirements, design/configure benefit and claim processing data, validate configuration, and lead configuration peer review
    • Communicate design to all stakeholders at varying levels of the organization
    • Present and evaluate design solutions objectively and facilitate conflict resolution
    • Define, use and communicate design patterns and best practices in service-oriented analysis, design and development
    • Provide configuration thought leadership to organization
  • Build & Maintenance:
    • Configure new business, including products/benefits, claim rules or clinical edits, within a health care administration system (e.g. Facets)
    • Develop detailed source-to-target data mapping and data transformation rules
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Lead internal quality efforts and participate in testing within a health care administration system (e.g. Facets) to ensure configuration is ready for implementation
    • Collaborate with Quality, Risk & Controls team to ensure efforts align with system deliveries and business processes
    • Develop strategies to improve service development life cycle and governance processes
    • Develop and use enterprise service and data models

This role is office based in Eden Prairie, MN.  Telecommuters will not be considered for this position.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of health care and/or health insurance experience
  • 5+ years Benefit, Claim, or Clinical analysis, design and build experience, and/or IT configuration or system analysis experience
  • 3+ years of staff supervision, team or process lead experience
  • 3+ years of experience identifying patterns within quantitative data, drawing conclusions, and recommending solutions and approaches; skilled with end-to-end issue resolution 
  • Intermediate or greater level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Benefit, Claim or Clinical research and analysis knowledge
  • Large-scale platform implementation or migration experience
  • Experience in metrics-based monitoring in both individual and team performance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with minor supervision
  • Knowledge of data structures within a health care administration system (e.g. Facets)
  • Ability to clearly articulate (both verbal and written) project status and issues management
  • Ability to interact effectively with other areas of the organization 
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality standards and meeting assigned deadlines
  • Agile or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training
