Sourcing & Procurement Consultant Sourcing & Procurement (IT) will execute contracts based on the Category Management Plan and streamline the handling of IT hardware, software, maintenance, and services contracts across UnitedHealth Group entities. In addition, the Sourcing Procurement Consultant, Sourcing & Procurement (IT) will deliver value to customers; communicate effectively; and drive high-quality execution. We are looking for a proven professional who is a self-starter and will successfully deliver on initiatives that will often have broad and meaningful impact on the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support technology strategies for IT hardware, software, and maintenance; and execute sourcing and contracting processes. Specifically, this individual will be expected to:
  • Negotiate a high volume of contracts taking into consideration how changing hardware technology impacts and is impacted by software licensing terms; draft commercial agreements; negotiate and execute contract terms and conditions (leveraging UnitedHealth Group's contract terms and internal subject matter experts, with an accountability to terms, risk mitigation / compliance and internal protocols), and overall pricing strategy
  • Understand and analyze commodities and global sourcing and contracting strategies; and ensure alignment of enterprise sourcing and contracting efforts, enterprise supply chain strategies with major technology vendors, and applicable business owner / commodity area strategies in accordance with overall business and financial goals
  • Develop relationships with applicable stakeholders across the enterprise to drive support of the sourcing and procurement value proposition, consistent, high-quality delivery of procurement programs, and sourcing and contracting initiatives
  • Evaluate supplier consolidation strategies, opportunities to leverage supplier spend (including, but not limited to, re-sourcing and re-negotiation of on-going supplier relationships), and cost savings opportunities; participate in vendor selection and competitive bidding strategy (e.g., RFPs, renegotiations, eSourcing) and leverage Ariba platform (Procure-to-Pay, Sourcing and Contracting) to drive process efficiencies and reduce costs; make appropriate recommendations; and execute and maintain the same
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to succeed in a high demand multi-tasking environment, with the ability to successfully navigate through ambiguities / difficult obstacles using facts, alternatives identification, open-mindedness, and thought-through strategy, and possess developed organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Develop relationships with applicable stakeholders across the enterprise to drive support of the sourcing and procurement value proposition, consistent, high-quality delivery of procurement programs, and sourcing and contracting initiatives

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in executing market-leading strategies and leading projects in cross-functional team environment involving IT Hardware and Software categories
  • Experience benchmarking, constructing, and negotiating master agreements and statements of work
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware infrastructure and software licensing
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPSM, CPM or equivalent certification
  • Knowledge of the Ariba e-Procurement tool; previous experience utilizing Procure-to-Pay and Contracting modules (or similar procurement systems)
